On June 6, 1944 at dawn, the G/'s were the first to set foot on the French beaches of Omaha and Utah Beach. These men will experience varying fortunes - if the German resistance will be less on Utah, the G/'s will suffer heavy losses on Omaha, so much so that the American general staff will consider for a time ordering the evacuation of the beach . But these men then form the vanguard of the forces which will liberate France.
